Times of India article

Was scouring through the archives when I found this article that was carried out in the 'Times of India' newspaper, April 30, 2006, Bangalore edition, where there is a mention of Tara.

Young moms get support aplenty
========================
Some say Bangalore’s baby boom is only just beginning. Considering the extent of hiring by IT and BPO companies, that could well be so. MindTree with 650 women saw 47 of them taking maternity leave last year, and 139 men taking paternity leave. Tara Sunil Chacko, who is expecting a baby in the next two weeks, says every month since November last year, at least one woman employee in her company Mascon Global (with 250 employees in Bangalore) has been taking maternity leave. “This wasn’t the case earlier, and it’s become a talking point in the company,” she says. Further, there is such a rush at clinics for sonography that there is inevitably a wait of two to three hours. Driving the baby boom is also pressure from family, friends and peers. Parents of youngsters who get jobs in Bangalore push their children to marry before they move to the city, and such marriages lead to early babies. Sarita Venugopal, a software engineer and mother of 15-month-old Arpan, says she has been encouraged by career women who have children and are still successful. “Easy availability of support systems from home, office and outside are also great encouragement,’’ she says. But not everybody has it so good. Call centre executive Devayani Chiranjeevi, who has a 6-month-old daughter Ruchira, says: “I had to get back to work after three months. It’s tough. During the day, an ayah takes care of my baby, during nights, my husband takes on that job.”
